ACCEPT Guitarist Doesn't Rule Out Possibility Of New Studio Album

ACCEPT guitarist Wolf Hoffmann recently spoke to Greece's The Temple of Metal webzine about the group's upcoming reunion tour. Several excerpts from the interview follow:

The Temple of Metal: When did you decide to reunite?

Wolf Hoffmann: "We had this discussion a couple of years ago but Udo [Dirkschneider, vocals] had other plans with his band. This year we talked about it again and we decided to go for it. Personally I always wanted to turn things up again, but as you can imagine it was quite difficult because everybody has taken a different way so we had to work things out and find the right moment."

On the setlist for the reunion tour:

Wolf Hoffmann: "We are going to play songs from 'Balls to the Wall', 'Metal Heart', 'Restless and Wild' and 'Breaker'. Maybe some songs from 'Russian Roulette'. As you can imagine we decided to play only our old songs.

"It is difficult [to choose the setlist] but since this time we don't actually have a new album to promote we have a bigger room for old songs. Also since this a reunion tour we like to remind to everybody our classic moments."

The Temple of Metal: Will you record parts of this reunion tour for a live DVD?

Wolf Hoffmann: "Yeah, there is such possibility. We will probably record some shows and we will see if they are good. We don't want to release a DVD just for doing it, it has to be good. There are many ACCEPT records out there containing pretty much the same songs live, so this one has to be special."

The Temple of Metal: Can you tell us what you where doing the last years away from ACCEPT?

Wolf Hoffmann: "I was hiding. I was in a witness protection program (laughs). Not really, I live in USA as you know. I am a professional photographer now. I had nothing to do with the music industry."

The Temple of Metal: Should we also [expect] a new studio album?

Wolf Hoffmann: "There is this possibility. But first things first. We will do the tour and from there on we will see how it will go. I can't say no but I also can't promise anything at this moment. If there is a good vibe in it we will do it.”

The Temple of Metal: Do you follow the music industry? Do you like any new bands?

Wolf Hoffmann: "To be quite honest with you no. I like the old bands and never really got involved listening to new stuff. OK, I do know EVANESCENCE but they are everywhere here in U.S. You can't actually avoid them (laughs)."
